Sustained inflows of well-educated immigrants have boosted the skills and size of the working-age population in the United Kingdom over the last 20 years, and the share of the working-age population born outside of the UK is now double the 1995 level and on par with other OECD countries. [\u2026] Over the last few years, the goal of UK immigration policy has been to encourage immigration of skilled migrants while reducing overall immigration.
