„Unlike in many other European countries, participation rates in Austria do not differ strongly with parental income: in 2020, 0- to 2-year-olds from low income backgrounds were slightly less than 9 percentage points less likely than their peers from high income backgrounds to participate in ECEC, a far smaller gap than the average for European countries of 16 percentage points. However, this is mostly the result of comparatively low participation among advantaged children, rather than high participation among disadvantaged children.“
