Schweden: „In Sweden, newly arrived students are defined as students aged 7-18, who have migrated to Sweden and do not have a basic knowledge of Swedish. These students are considered as newly arrived for up to four years after starting in a Swedish school. […] Newly arrived students can initially be taught in separate introductory classes if necessary, but should be in mainstream classes as much as language proficiency allows. Placements in introductory classes should be terminated after a maximum of two years.“
