„Austria’s strong apprenticeship system permits many vocational students to directly develop their practical skills on the job: nearly half of all upper secondary students in VET, or 32 % of all upper secondary students, combined school and work-based training in 2016. Close to three-quarters (73 %) of young people who completed an apprenticeship in 2015 were employed 18 months later, with a median duration until finding a job of less than two months. The median salary was EUR 2 100, compared to EUR 2 900 for tertiary graduates.“
