„After controlling for socio-economic background and academic performance, students with an immigrant background were seven percentage points more likely to expect to complete tertiary education than native students, on average across OECD countries. Similarly, they were more likely to hold expectations to work in high-skilled occupations when they are 30 years old. Reasons for these differences might be rooted in parents’ expectations.“
