„The BCS data (Anm.: BCS = British Cohort Study) also show that better self-regulation at age 5 was associated with lower likelihoods of smoking and engaging in high-risk drinking in adulthood. Similarly, children in the Dunedin Study who exhibited better selfregulation throughout childhood were less likely to be dependent on substances in adulthood, including tobacco, alcohol, cannabis, street or prescription drugs.“
