The consequences of bullying …

„Existing research shows that the consequences of bullying build up over time and they affect the targeted student in many ways. First and foremost, it influences the victim’s mental health by leading to a decrease in their self-esteem and an increase in the risk of anxiety and depression, or social isolation from the class or school community. It might also impact targeted student’s physical health by heightening the risk of eating or sleep disorder. In addition, bullying at school has an impact not only on its direct victims, but also on bystanders. But bullying can also affect how well students do at school. Students who are afraid of being attacked, ridiculed or insulted by others may have trouble concentrating during class, forget an important assignment, or skip some days at school, all of which can contribute to learning loss.“
